Michael Avery is an illustrator and graphic designer from Washington, DC, now based in London. He has a MFA in Communication from the Royal College of Art in London (2025) and a BFA in Communication Design from Washington University in St Louis (2019). His detail-oriented practice explores place through a blend of anecdotal storytelling and historical research, treating the creative process as a form of inquiry. He values strong aesthetics and work that embraces visible craft. Outside of work, he loves dinosaurs, geography, and the Green Bay Packers.
